Ladies and gentlemen of the jury: this is a pack of crazy little Japanese girls who call themselves (no, seriously) The Hard Nips and rock out and go batshit crazy on stage playing songs with titles like “Children of Satan.” Are you really going to argue with that? I didn’t think so.
The videos on Youtube of them are exceptionally terrible, but these broads blew me away at some Vice Magazine party at Bell House this past spring. While they fell off my radar shortly after, what I remember of their show did involve prom dresses and hella antics and possibly cramming drinks down the throats of the people in the front row. So it’s no surprise that I was infinitely psyched to rediscover them, erm, popping up all over my music blogroll googlereader as they’re about to release their first EP (the release party’s tomorrow at Cake Shop) on Mixpak.
