Where the Wild Things Are overkill is starting to make me pre-emptively depressed about potentially being let down by the film after so much hype, but I’m consoling myself with the fact that the reason it’s getting to be such a big deal to begin with is because we all loved it so damn much as kids — on par with, say, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs (which apparently is some crappy animated movie now too? Ew. Still just always going to remember that in Mrs. Schweigardt’s first grade class during snack time or whatever.)  or Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day (or Madeline! and the Polar Express! and the Napping House! or Corduroy! or The Very Hungry Caterpillar!   and everything by Roald Dahl ever! Having a mom who was a volunteer school librarian was awesome.)

ANYHOW. Point is: I sort of wanted to be annoyed by Opening Ceremony’s Where the Wild Things Are collection, especially because faux fur dresses are in general sort of horrifying (UNLESS you’re going as an adorable expensive monster for halloween - OMG!) — but when all is said and done, I really just think it’s ridiculously cute.  Kids lit FTW!
