Seriously, can we just take a moment to appreciate that Vogue Turkey appears to be cranking out some of the best photo & styling in editorials out there these days?  I know I just posted that red and black editorial below, but I’m continually impressed by the things they’ve put out in recent months, including this Matthew Brookes ed with Andrej Pejic (left) and Jana K (right.)

Aside from the usual problems — using waiflike white blonde models in a magazine for a country that is largely not populated by white blondes, the fact that they both look like nine year olds and that fashion’s concept of “androgyny” is usually just “prepubescent” — this is pretty awesome.  The styling and hair are impeccable, they actually sexualize Andrej in that creepy pouty feminized way and refrain from showcasing Jana’s tits (which also gets into something about how we photograph men vs women as well, in terms of actual lighting and angles and the direction the photographer had to give during the shoot.), and the lighting and photography is flawless as well. (Seriously, how did they do that? Photogs, your guess is as good as mine. Skylight? Natural light with a strobe above? Just a shit ton of bounce and smaller softboxes?)  Or maybe it’s just as I said (in usual extremely intellectual fashion) to Hilary a few minutes ago: “I just sort of want to do both of them and wear everything here so I’ll consider that a success.” Rest of the ed after the jump.
