kind of a cool idea, esp in light of recent discussion (and my post) about cartier-bresson + walker evans’ subway portraits, and the work of posterboy, etc…
the thing that’s ridiculous is how many of them i can place/recognize the advertisement they were from (stoli! dumb “storagista” mini-storage ad! flight of the conchords! learn english ads! help the homeless! terrifying pro wrestling ad! CUNY!) i’m only sad everyone’s dear friend dr. zizmor isn’t among them…
edit: just found the original posts about it at lowerwestside and laughed my ass off because he made a dr z joke too. oh, new york.
