in high school, the ap US history classes had this epic “city project” in which we had to create a city — government, education, maps, zoning, population, location, weather, history, economy, public trans, waste management, energy sources, everything. we had months to do it and pulled numerous all-nighters finishing it and it was pretty much life consuming and oddly satisfying/fascinating.
